An illness which began three months ago caused the death of Blazej Devera, who spent the past 32 years of his life in this city, in St. Mary Hospital at 10 o'clock yesterday morning.

A requiem mass will be conducted Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock in St. Stephen church and burial will be made in St. Stephen cemetery. A brief service is to be held at the family home, 1212 James St., at 8:30 o'clock.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Devera, he was born in Poland February 3, 1880. He grew to manhood there and came to this city when he was 23 years old. It was here that he was married to Miss Anna Voytko in January 1911, and they became the parents of seven children. Mr. Devera worked as a laborer until his health failed. He was a member of St. Stephen's Church which he attended regularly and was affiliated with the Polish National Alliance.

Surviving are his widow and seven children: John, Andrew, Frank, Joseph, Edward and Mary McCloskey of Streator, and Thomas who is stationed in a C. C. C. camp in Wyoming. Also left are two brothers: Matt and Andrew Devera, one half-brother: Valentine Devera, and one sister: Susan Gura, all of Streator.

Two sisters preceded him in death.
