Mrs. Swick, 50 taken by death
ALACHUA-Mrs. Alice Manry Swick, wife of James J. Swick, President of the Copeland Sausage Company, died in the Alachua General Hospital in Gainesville, yesterday following a lingering illness. She was 50 years old.
Mrs. Swick, a native of Edison, Georgia, was born 4 October 1905. She came to Alachua seven years ago with her family. She was a member of the First Baptist Church here, and the Alachua Women's Club.
Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church tomorrow afternoon at 2:30. The Rev. A. D. Martin will officiate, assisted by the Rev. J. N. Copeland. Burial will be in Newnansville, under direction of Williams-Thomas Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Noel McGahee, Lindley Cellon, Roy Cellon, Ralph Cellon, Ben F. McMgahee, and Pat Keeter. They are ask to meet at the church at 2:15 p.m. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Swick is survived by three children, Jimmy Swick, Alachua; Mrs. Grady (Martha) Alday, Jr. and Mrs. James (Sarah) Herring, Alachua, her father, B. F. Manry, Council, Georgia; three brother, William Manry, Camilla, Alfred, Cairo, Georgia, Charles Miami and three sisters, Mrs. Kate McPherson, Macon, Georgia, Mrs. Mary Grossman, Homestead, Florida and Mrs. India Bullard, Camilla, Georgia.
