Charles Dwayne Chatman, Ill was born in Nashville, TN to the late Charles D. Chatman, Jr. and Mary Taylor Chatman on January 31, 1949. Charles was the only brother to six sisters; Barbara Jean Chatman Carter (Deceased), Charlene Chaumm Bentley (Deceased), Willie Mau Chatman Winston (Deceased), O'Delia (Moochie) Chatman (Deceased), Ellen Marie Chatman Smith (Deceased). He is survived by his only baby sister, Margaret Louise Chatmml Chambers. During childhood, Charles joined the 15th Avenue Church of Christ. Shortly after meeting Patricia his wife, he joined the Fairfield Missionary Baptist Church where he was baptized by Pastor JW Curry.

Charles was a member of the North Nashville High School class of 1967. He held several jobs until he found his passion for OTR big rig driving. A profession he enjoyed for 30 years until his death.

Charles married the former Patricia Ann Henderson on April 20, 1985, and became the devoted father of their four beautiful children. In addition to providing for his family, Charles enjoyed golfing, grilling, yard work, and socializing, AKA talking. He was an active member of The Untouchables Social Club. With a kind and generous heart, Charles was always eager to help those in need.

He leaves to treasure loving memories his devoted wife, Patricia their children Gregory (Latonya) Henderson, Jared D. Chatman, Jennifer Gentry, and Danielle (Romario) Cathey; grandchildren, Romario Cathey, Jr., Amari Cathey, Caleb Chaumm, and Isaiah Tibbs, his sister Margaret (Carl) Chambers; sisters· in-law, Dr. Pamela Henderson, Denise (John, Jr.) Farmer; Brother-in­-law, Chmks (Eva) Henderson; devoted friends, Hollis King, Roy James, Alvin Wilson, Bill Buford, Anthony Dnunwright, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, colleagues, and dear friends.
