James R. LaBarge, age 86, entered into rest on Friday, February 19th, 2021 at Mount Joseph Senior Village. He was born January 10, 1935 in Clyde, Kansas to Homer and Aldea (Hamel) LaBarge.
Jim was a 1952 graduate of Notre Dame Catholic High School in Concordia.
On August 6, 1956, he married Marlys Jean Brunell at the St. Peter Catholic Church in Aurora, Kansas.
Jim and Marlys recently celebrated 64 years of marriage this past August.
Jim was a Lifetime Farmer, Rancher, and Truck Driver.
He enjoyed water skiing, snow skiing, and visiting with people, he never met a stranger.
Jim was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Moose Club, and Elks Club all of Concordia, and past member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Aurora.
Jim is survived by his wife, Marlys, Concordia, KS ,2 sons, Mark LaBarge (Anita), Aurora, KS; Galen LaBarge (Mary), Concordia, KS; 2 Daughters, Janet Chaplin (Glen), Manhattan, KS; Jeanie Montana, Peoria, AZ; Brother Patrick LaBarge, Aurora, KS; 9 Grandchildren, Michelle, Nathan, Sarah, Whitney, Ryan, Megan, Christian, Nick, and Lauren, 9 Great-Grandchildren, and one on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Aldea, Daughter, Julie Funk, Sisters, Mary R. Marcotte and Maxine C. Gray, and Brother, Ronal LaBarge.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 22, 2021 from 1-8 PM at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home in Concordia, Kansas. A Knights of Columbus Rosary will be prayed on Monday, February 22, 2021 at 6:00 PM at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home in Concordia, Kansas. Family will greet friends after the Rosary Service.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Aurora, Kansas with Fr. David Metz officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Peter Catholic Cemetery, Aurora, Kansas.
Memorial Contributions may be given to Meadowlark Hospice c/o Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home.
