Lysbeth A. “Betsy” Hoffman, age 82, entered into rest on February 18, 2021, in her residence, following a long illness. She was born on December 1, 1938 in Albion, a daughter of William Hart and Mary Covell Hey and was a life-long resident of the area.
Mrs. Hoffman was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Richard, her son, Scott and her sister, Pamilla Leigh.
Betsy was a graduate of the Lyndonville School System and was a member of the Pullman Memorial Universalist Church. She had worked as the Town of Carlton Historian for over 41 years. She was “The Lady of the Lake” radio talk show host for WWBE out of Brockport, and was the author of Lakeside News, which was a Feature Column in the Medina Journal Register.
Betsy was also a 47 year member of the Orleans Chapter of the DAR, and she was one of the founding members of the Orleans County Historical Society.
She is survived by her son, David (Ingrid) Hoffman of Middlesex; two grandsons, Shawn Hoffman, Kevin (Kimberly) Hoffman; as well as several nieces; nephews and cousins.
Calling Hours and her Memorial Service will be held in the Spring.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Carlton Fire Department 1853 Oak Orchard Road Albion, New York 14411.
