ROYAL CENTER — Ervin Bruce, 89, Rt. 2, Lucerne, died at 2:35 a.m. Monday at Memorial Hospital. Born June 4, 1890, in Fulton County, he was the son of James and Edith Hudkins Bruce. He was married on Dec. 24, 1914, to Maude M. Burton, who died Jan. 10, 1974. A member of the Indian Creek Christian Church, Lucerne, he was a retired Harrison Township farmer.

Surviving are three daughters, Esther Kemnetz, Rochester; Ruth Reed, Kewanna; and Lois Markley, Rochester; one son, Carl, Lucerne; one brother, Loyd, Lucerne; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Five sisters preceded him in death.

Rites are pending at the Harrison Metzger Funeral Home.
