Katherine Fick was the second child of John Paul Fick (sometimes listed as Charles or Charles R Fick) and Alice McNamee. When she was six years old, her mother, Alice McNamee Fick died of tuberculosis.

On 24 Jan 1897, Katherine was received into Probation at the Bustleton United Church, and was recieved in Full Connection on 07 Aug 1897.

On the 01 Jun 1900 and 21 Apr 1910 US Census, Katherine was working as a servant for two private families (the Burke and the Palmer families).

Katherine Fick was a nurse at Saint Francis Hospital in Trenton, New Jersey in 1917-1920, and lived at 4020 North Eight Street in Philadelphia. Then, she became the Assistant Superintendent of Nurses at the Lying-In Charity Hospital on 11th Street in Philadelphia. From 1925, she acted as the Supervisor of Nurses at the Municipal Colony (now Trenton Municipal Hospital).

Katherine Fick never married.

Katherine owned a beach home at 11 Dune Terrace, Seaside Heights, Monmouth, New Jersey. She willed it to her sister, Mary Fick Fell upon her death and Mary's son, John Paul Fell, purchased the property after Mary died.
