Scottish Country & Western Singer. In a career that spanned 70 years, he got his first taste of fame appearing on television in 1953. Afterwards, he was asked to tour with the late Andy Stewart and The White Heather Group. His songs include, "Tiny Bubbles," "Crystal Chandelier," "Legend in My Time," and "Maggie." He made 51 albums in his time, including, "Absolutely Devine" in 1975, "Almost Persuaded" in 1977 and "Always and Forever" in 1987. Over his career, he sold over 15 million albums, 20 singles and 10 DVD’s including "Simply the Best of Sydney Devine" in 2007. He also received an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) for services to music and for his charity work, including the Marie Curie Foundation, the Motor Neurone Disease Association, and Mary’s Meals, to name a few. In November 2020, he went into the studio and recorded his final album. The single "Heroes" was released in February 2021, as his way to thank the National Health Service for all their hard work.
