Mr. S.F. Ashbrook, 79 years of age, a prominent retired farmer and preacher, died Tuesday morning at the home of his son, David Ashbrook, on Harvey Avenue. He was born and reared in Pulaski county and spent practically all of his life as a farmer in the Shafter community. He was also a preacher for many years and was well known in all sections of the county. He was a man of splendid Christian character. Funeral services were held at the residence of his son at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. Burial was in the City Cemetery. Surviving are sons, Charles of Cincinnati, John of Louisville, Lawrence, David, and Harry of Somerset; and four daughters, Mrs. John Squires, Tucson, Ariz., Mrs. William Cornwell, and Mrs. James Clifton, Gibson City, Ill, and Mrs. A.R. Carter, Cincinnati.
