Maria's birthdate is per Mary Ann Hitchcock Spurway's Family Bible, Springfield, IL, August 1930. Maria was listed as executor when her brother-in-law, Henry William Akers, (husband of sister Elizabeth) died. Maria was living at Hogarth Lane. Henry was a beer retailer and Maria was listed as a "beer housekeeper". In 1881, Maria was living at the Lifeguardsman Inn, 48 Hogarth Lane, Chiswick. Her sister, Betsey and husband Henry, had owned/managed it prior to their deaths and it seems Maria took over after their deaths. She died unmarried.
