Actor. He will be remembered for his association with daytime soap operas in the roles of 'Dr. Martin Brandt' in "The Doctors" (1974 to 1977), also 'Ray Gardner' in "All My Children" (1977 to 1999) and 'Hawk Shayne' in "The Guiding Light" (1986 to 2009). He caught the acting bug at an early age and performed during his childhood in local theatre productions. He majored in Chemistry at Harvard University, however he chose to pursue his dream as a performer and enrolled at Transylvania University where he studied Drama. He broke into television during the early 1960s with a role in the series "General Electric Theatre" (1960) and made his motion picture debut in the low-budget, gangster film "Blast of Silence" (1961). He followed this with the picture "Nothing But a Man" (1964) and closed out the decade with his multiple role performances in the highly-acclaimed Broadway play "The Great White Hope" (1968 to 1970) which starred James Earl Jones. His other film credits include "The Panic in Needle Park" (1971), "W.W. and the Dixie Dancekings" (1975), "The Bell Jar" (1979) and "Eddie Macon's Run" (1983).
