Known for feeding pigeons at a park near the Cecil Hotel, where she rented a room, she was affectionately called "Pigeon Goldie" by the locals.

On June 4th 1964 a 79 year old retired telemarketer named Goldie Osgood was found in her hotel room dead. The autopsy showed that she was beaten, stabbed, raped, and choked with a rag. Her hotel room was ramsacked. Friends say they talked to her merely minutes before her death.

She was known for feeding pigeons at a nearby park and thats how she earned her nickname "Pigeon Goldie".

She was staying at the Cecil Hotel, where she was very liked and was a long time residence. The hotel is now known as Stay on Main. It is a very notorious place where many unsolved murders & high profiled deaths, such as, Elisa Lam. There have also been multiple accounts of suicides and even serial killers, Richard Ramirez and Jack Unterweger have stayed there.

Not much information can be found on her death. Only that a man named Jacques B. Ehlinger was arrested a few hours after her body was found. He had been seen walking in the same area Ms. Osgood would feed pigeons. He was covered in blood, but was later released due to lack of evidence.

In a news article, it was speculated that her murder was connected to 2 other women who were murdered around the same area. No names were given, but one was stabbed to death on May 16, 1964. The other had a similar interest as Goldie Osgood and often fed pigeons in MacArthur Park. She was also stabbed to death on April 29, 1964.

Sadly, there isn't much more information on her murder. There were no other leads and no other suspects that could have been interviewed. The case has gone cold.

Rest in peace Goldie Osgood (May 31, 1885- June 4, 1964)
