Theresa Irene (Todt) Schlitt, 94 of Poplar Bluff, died on March 5th, 2021 at home. She was born April 19th, 1926 to John and Bertha (Hoehn) Todt at Nokomis, Illinois. On June 17, 1950, Theresa married Robert Schlitt at Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran, Missouri. They were happily married for 62 years. Robert proceeded her in death in 2012. Theresa was a loving wife and mother. She always placed the needs of her family ahead of her own.

Theresa and Robert were members of Sacred Heart Catholic Church since 1959. For many years, she was a member of the KC Ettes, the ladies auxiliary of the Knight of Columbus, St. Vincent DePaul, and which she shared with Robert. She also enjoyed gardening in her flower and vegetable gardens, traveling, and decorating for the holidays. Theresa and Robert were avid Three Rivers College Raiders fans. They always followed the team on the road and to national tournaments. Theresa's family was most important to her and she thoroughly enjoyed spending time with them, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to get down in the floor and play with her grandchildren.

Survivors include seven children, Carol Schlitt of St. Louis, Barbara (Gerry) Hoeing of St. Louis, Linda (Larry) Hurst of Poplar Bluff, John Schlitt of Poplar Bluff, Diane (Mike) Hirtz of Glennonville, Mary Schlitt of Poplar Bluff, and Debbie (Chad) Landry of Tokyo, Japan; nine grandchildren, Peter Hoeing, Emily Pagano, Stephanie Minghi, Kevin Hoeing, Brandon Hurst, McKayla Perkins, Robert Hirtz, Tara Landry, Calla Minghi, Ariella Perkins, and one brother, Robert (Mary) Todt.

Preceding her in death are her parents and seven siblings, Herman Todt, Harold Todt, Regina Anderson, Cletus Todt, Geraldine Lewis, Carl Todt, Sylvester Todt, and one granddaughter, Sarah Lange.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Sacred Heart School or St. Vincent DePaul Society in care of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 825 Vine Street, Poplar Bluff, MO 63901.
