Jack Weldon Avery of Oklahoma City, passed from this life on March 8, 2021, at the age of 94. He was born on December 27, 1926, to his parents, James “Jim” and Belva Ruth (Caddell) Avery, in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma. Jack was the youngest son of 12 children, including 7 brothers, Harry, Joe, Leroy, Jess, Ben, Oscar, and George, and 4 sisters, Fay, Betty, Juanita, and Rosemary. Jack is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Sammie (Ward) Avery; his 2 sons, Danny and Jerry Avery, both of Oklahoma City; and his 14 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving family members and friends. Jack will reunite with his son, Mike; and daughter Connie; as well as his parents, James & Belva Ruth Avery; 7 brothers; and 4 sisters.
Jack was a truck driver for Time D.C. and Transcon Freight until he retired. J
Funeral Services to celebrate Jack’s life were held March 15, 2021, at the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel. Services were under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel.
