Mrs. Mamie Lee Branscome Baker, 100, of Duck Hill, died August 24, 1999 of heart failure at Tyler Holmes Memorial Hospital in Winona. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Baker was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William George Branscome. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Lynwood Baker, and two sons, Wayne Baker and Glen Baker. She was a member of Duck Hill Methodist Church and Duck Hill Homemaker's Club.
Funeral services were held August 26 at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel in Winona. Rev. Troy Land officiated, assisted by Rev. Norris Corley. Burial was in Duck Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Baker is survived by two daughters, Nell Land of West Point, Sarah Powell of Duck Hill; one son, William D. Baker of Starkville; two sisters, Gladiola B. Harris and Augusta B. Irby, both of Grenada; brother, J. D. Branscome of Grenada, 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Dr. Mickey King, Hugh Knight, Michael Boler, Don Cooper, Jimmy Powell, Barry Story, Billy Baker, Dick Levy, Charles Baker and Major Winters.
Oliver Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
