Obituary from South Cache Courier (Hyrum, UT) - Friday, January 23, 1948:
Logan - Mrs. Sarah Walters Stewart, 56, wife of Dr. E. I. Stewart, Logan dentist, died at her home, Sunday morning after a short illness.
Mrs. Stewart was a past president and secretary of the first district dental society and had been active in various activities of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a member of the Brigham Young Camp, Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
She was born at Wellsville, Cache County, May 20, 1891, a daughter of Edward W. and Hannah H. Walters. She received her education in the Wellsville and Logan City Schools, and for three years studied at Utah State Agricultural College where she was active in student body affairs and college dramatics. She married Dr. Stewart in the Salt Lake LDS Temple September 29, 1910.
Surviving are her husband, her mother, Logan, a son, Dr. E. I. Stewart, Jr., New York City, N.Y., two grandchildren, Sally Ann and Susan K. Stewart, New York City, N.Y.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Logan LDS First Ward Chapel by Wilhelm Pedersen, Bishop. Burial was in the Logan City Cemetery.
