Charles Maresca
May 22, 1930 - January 28, 2021

Charles Maresca of Paramus, NJ, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2021. He was 90 years old.

He was born and raised in North Bergen, NJ.

Charles was a devoted husband to his late wife Maureen (nee O'Rourke), and loving father of his two daughters, JoAnn of Paramus, NJ, and Catherine, and son-in-law Nick, of Ridgewood, NJ. He derived great joy from spending time with his two wonderful grandchildren, Alexander and Elisabeth.

He is survived by his dear brother Daniel Maresca, of Toms River, NJ. Before retiring, Charles worked for PSE&G as a Chief Lineman.

He enjoyed playing sports in his younger years, and even met his beloved wife Maureen during a pick-up softball game at the park. Charles was always a sports fan, cheering the Yankees on, and maintaining a love-hate relationship with the NY Giants; loved them when they won, mad at them when they lost.

He was a lifelong devoted fan of Frank Sinatra, enjoying many years of Ol' Blue Eyes' music and concerts. Charles was a talented do-it-your-selfer, always taking care of his own house, even building a screened-in porch at age 80. He was always ready to lend a hand with electrical work at friends or relatives homes. Charles was a kind and humble man, who was loved and admired by his family and friends.

He was an amazing story teller who kept everyone entertained and spellbound at family dinners. Charles once saved a woman's life while on the job as a lineman, administering CPR until medical help arrived. PSE&G honored him with an Award for Heroism.

Charles served his country proudly in the Army Air Force National Guard for 8 years during the Korean War, though never deployed he took great pride in his service to our country.

Services were held privately and entrusted to Vander Plaat Memorial Home, Paramus.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions in Charles's memory may be made to Special Olympics, Saint Jude's, Boy's Town, and The Humane Society.
