Born name A. Fowler Ellison. Went by Fowler on most records. Fowler is engraved on his marker. Son of Samuel Ellison and first wife Caroline nee Culver Ellison. For many years a prominent businessman merchant in Eau Claire, Wi. Came to Eau Claire with his family about 1860. Operated a shoe store with his uncle E.S. Culver for more than 30 years. Survived by 2 daughters, Nelle Hinds of Denver Colorado, and Louise Rowe of North Yakima, Wa.He was born about 1854 in Pennsylvania. In 1920 A. Fowler Ellison was an inmate of the Eau Claire County Insane Asylum in Union, WI. A. F. died between 21 Nov 1920 (his wife's death) and Sep 1928 (his daughter Nella's death).
