Former Boise resident Helen G. Ussery, 79, now of Gresham, Ore., died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2002, in Portland, Ore.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, at Alterra Wynwood, 25200 S.E. Stark, in Gresham. A memorial service is being planned in Boise. The time and date will be announced later.
Helen was born April 3, 1922, in Gooding, Idaho, the daughter of Tecumseh and Pearl (Colson) Ussery. She attended school in the Boise area, and later worked for 26 years at American Linen in Boise. After this she was a long distance operator for five years and then worked in the hot lunch programs for the Boise School District for nine years. She was a member of Central Assembly of God Church in Boise.
In 1999 she and her sister, Maxine, moved to Anchorage, Alaska, to be near family, and in 2000 moved to Gresham, Ore., to be near their sister, Donna.
Her hobbies were sewing, reading and gardening.
Survivors include her sisters, Maxine Ussery and Donna Whalen of Gresham, Ore.; brother, Cecil Ussery of Everett, Wash.; and four nieces and four nephews. Three sisters and three brothers preceded her in death.
