She died on March 18, 1920, 8:15 p.m., at the home of her oldest daughter, Mariah Seifert Wilson, in Saint Joseph, Missouri. Cause of death was bronchial pneumonia due to influenza. She had been living with her other daughter, Dora Seifert Wilson and her spouse and children in Marshall County, Kansas, until Dora's death of influenza on February 15, 1920. Mariah took over the care of her mother and brought her to Saint Joseph to live with her on February 20, 1920, shortly after Dora's death. Maria Seifert was buried at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Saint Joseph, Missouri, on March 20, 1920.

Marker is made of concrete with many small pebbles in it. Delicate and deteriorating. Located at the top of the hill in the St. Augustine section. Name is spelled incorrectly. Her daughter, Mariah, is buried halfway down the same hill.
