Amanda (Covington) Dillard was born on January 12, 1875 in Tennessee, the daughter of Henry Covington Sr and Lizzletta ( -- ) Covington.
She was married to Leslie "Marshall" Dillard (1879-1961), the son of Frank Dillard and Jane (Perry) Dillard (ca 1840- ).
Living at 1817 Hermosa street in Nashville, Amanda was 87 years old and a widow when she had a heart attack and died on May 14, 1962 at Meharry Hospital.
Survivors included her sister Mrs Carrie Batey, brothers Nathan Covington and Foster L Covington Sr of Nashville, Tennessee, Prince Covington and Milton Covington of Chicago, Illinois, seven nieces, nine nephews, 43 grandnieces and nephews seventeen great-grand nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law Mrs Hattie Covington and Mattie Covington of Nashville, mrs Addie Covington of Chicago, Illinois and Mrs Nelle Bailey, brother-in-law Robert Batey and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services were held on May 17th at Hopewell Baptist Church on Monroe Street, followed with burial in Hills of Calvary Cemetery, Nashville.
