Note on Blake Lineage:
"Horatio G. Somerby created a fraudulent pedigree for Humphrey Blake that still appears as fact today. This pedigree was used for William H. Whitmore's A Record of the Blakes of Somersetshire, Especially in the Line of William Blake, of Dorchester, Mass. (Boston: privately printed, 1881). Paul C. Reed disproves this pedigree in his article "Two Somerby Frauds or 'Placing the Flesh on the Bones,'" The American Genealogist 74 (1999): 15-28." — SOURCE: Famous Kin
