Noah Barnett, age 63, of Johnson City, TN formerly of Green Mountain, NC went home to be with the Lord April 3, 2021 after a brief battle with cancer. He was a native of Mitchell County, NC and a son of the late Ray and Mary Peterson Barnett. Noah attended Cherry Grove Baptist Church.

He enjoyed listening to bluegrass gospel music. He also enjoyed fishing and being outdoors. Noah loved life and brought joy to all who met him. He will be remembered for his sweet smile.

Survivors include six brothers: Tony Barnett of Lenoir, NC, Coy Barnett of Johnson City, TN, Clay Barnett (Maybelline), of Green Mountain, NC, Owen Barnett (Judy), of Green Mountain, NC, Embert Barnett (Sandra), of Green Mountain, NC, and Lindsey Barnett (Jean), of Green Mountain, NC, nine sisters: Zula Yelton (Jay), of Bakersville, NC, Trula Yelton of Bakersville, NC, Zora Barnett, of Green Mountain, NC, Opal Jones (Carson), of Burnsville, NC, Frances Gouge, of Jonesborough, TN, Barbara Miller (Larry), of Green Mountain, NC, Oma Jones (Dennis), of Spruce Pine, NC, Mable Robison, of Green Mountain, NC, and Otehia Hollifield (Rick), of Bakersville, NC, and a host of nieces nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death in addition to his parents by sister Josephine Barnett.

A special thanks to Core Services of Northeast Tennessee and The Center on Aging and Health for taking such great care of Noah. He loved each of you. You all brought such joy to his life.

Private family services will be held Wednesday, April 7, 2021 in the chapel of Henline - Hughes Funeral Home with Reverend Rick Hollifield and Reverend Kevin Laws officiating. Any one attending is ask to bring and wear a mask due to the Covid 19 pandemic. Interment will follow the service at Byrd Cemetery (Byrd Creek Rd) Green Mountain, NC.
