WABASHA -- The funeral Mass for Martin J. Passe will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Felix Catholic Church in Wabasha, with the Rev. William Kulas officiating. Interment will be in St. Felix Cemetery.
Mr. Passe, 90, of rural Wabasha, died Saturday (Oct. 27, 2007) at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Wabasha.
He was born Nov. 5, 1916, in Wabasha. He graduated from St. Felix High School in Wabasha and began the lifelong occupation of farming on the family farm. He married Marie Wobbe on May 20, 1947, at St. Felix Catholic Church. Mr. Passe was a lifelong member of St. Felix Catholic Church, and served many years on the Glasgow Township Board in Wabasha County. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, as well as fishing and being outdoors. He spent many years on the Zumbro and Mississippi rivers and enjoyed, hunting, traveling, playing cards, and visiting with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife; five sons, Martin Jr. (Kathy) of La Crescent, Ron (Mary) of Wabasha, Pete (Kathy) of Oronoco, Steve (Barb) of Winona and Tom (Maryann) of Eagan, Minn.; three daughters, Sharon (Bill) Sichel of Clifton, N.J., Kathy (Jack) Robertson of St. Paul and Gerri Passe of Rochester; 16 grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond of La Crosse, Wis., and Richard (Mary) of Albany, Minn.; and two sisters, Anita (Allyn) Davidshofer of Cold Spring, Minn., and Christine Schmidt of Wabasha. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Abbott Funeral Home in Wabasha, and an hour before the service Tuesday at the church. There will be a Prayer service at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
The family prefers memorials to St. Felix School.
