Herbert W. Epp, 85, of Lincoln, passed away April 16, 2021. He was born December 27, 1935, in Goltry, OK, to Theodore and Matilda (Schmidt) Epp. As a child, he gave his heart to Christ and desired to follow Him. He received his MA from Wheaton College and then his MDiv from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Herb met Selma Hiebner at Grace Bible Institute in Omaha, and they were married in 1957. They spent 26 years as missionaries in the Philippines with SEND International and raised three children. Herb was a member of Middle Cross Church. He taught at Febias College of Bible for 15 years in the Philippines and served as chaplain for Back to the Bible in Lincoln for 6 years.

Herb was a devoted, loving, and supportive husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his children Diann (Leland) Warkentin, Bonnie Bowley, and Douglas (Rochelle) Epp; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters Berniece Wiseman, Marilyn (David) Sundeen, and Virginia (Harold) Warkentin. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Selma, and sister Eleanor Christensen.

A celebration of Herb's life will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, April 23, 2021, at Middle Cross Church, 2600 N. 70th St., Lincoln. Visitation is 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Thursday, April 22, 2021, at Roper & Sons, 4300 'O' St. Memorials may be given to SEND International or Middle Cross Church, and condolences online at Roperandsons.com. A livestream will be available 10 minutes prior to service at www.roperandsons.com.
