Annette Grein, born Nov.2,1924 in Austin, TX, passed from this life Oct 29, 2007. The daughter of the late Thomas & Mabel Norman. She was a teacher in the El Paso I.S.D. until the birth of her first son. In 1954, she opened Tigua Hobbycrafts which later became ABC Arts & Crafts. She raised her family in the back of the shop so that she could be a wife, mother, and a business woman. Annette was a member of the Church of Christ. She was a member of, or involved with many civic and community organizations. She often had a petition in hand to get something improved in the community. Her first victory was the building of the "first" much needed, Lower Valley Library. Annette is survived by her son, James Grein and wife Diane, of Houston and her daughter, Elizabeth Anne (Annie) Dufour of El Paso, two grandsons, Thomas and Taylor Dufour of El Paso, two granddaughters, Sandy and Kristen Grein of Houston, and two great grandchildren, her sister Mary L. Curry, of Kyle TX. Predeceased by her husband, Owen, son, Thomas Grein, and sister, Jessie McLean. Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Sat., Nov 3, 2007, at Cielo Vista Church, 3585 Lee Trevino, El Paso, TX. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in Annette's name.
