Joseph P. Weber
August 20, 1925 - April 29, 2021

Joseph P. Weber, age 95 formerly of rural Kiel, died peacefully on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at Garrow Villa in Brillion.

Joe was born on August 20, 1925; to the late Fred and Anna (Aulbach) Weber in Marytown. In 1954 he enlisted in the U.S. Army where he was stationed in Germany until 1956. While in the Army, he was able to travel extensively throughout Europe. On October 26, 1968 he married Johanna A. Mueller in Charlesburg. Johanna preceded him in death on February 10, 2013. He was employed with Eck Industries for over 25 years until his retirement. He also farmed for many years with is wife Jo, enjoying their pigs. Joe enjoyed all of his time outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing, and traveling to most of the states, including Alaska and his trip with Jo to Germany. He took great pride in his gardens both flowers and gardening on his farm as well as his home in New Holstein. He loved gardening until his later years. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, School Hill until he moved to New Holstein when he became a member at Holy Rosary. Joe was also a member of the American Legion Post #387.

He is survived by his two daughters: Debbie (Greg) Pautz and Sharon (Timothy) Genske; four grandchildren: Miriah Pautz (Nate Sell), Cody Pautz (Heather Doughty), Ethan Genske and Trevor Genske; brothers: Andrew Weber, Eugene (Julie) Weber and Paul (Lois) Weber and sister: Edna Backhaus, He is further survived by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Elaine Mertens, Merlin (Ruth) Mueller, Judy Schmitz, and Shirley (John) Pickart; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many special friends.

Joe was preceded in death by his wife: Jo; infant son: Rodney; parents: Fred Weber and Claude and Anna Weber; sisters: Dorothy (Robert) Herr and Marie (Claude) Lisowe and brother-in-law: Roman Backhaus and Elmer Mertens.

Mass of Christian Burial for Joe will be held at 5:00PM on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, New Holstein. He will be laid to rest next to his wife at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery. Military Rites will be accorded following the service by Franklin American Legion Post #387.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Wednesday, from 2:00PM until 4:45PM on when brief family rites will be held.

The family would like to thank Shirley and John Pickart for the support they gave to Joe and the girls, as well as April and her staff at the Garrow Villa for the amazing compassion and care shown to Joe, treating him like family from the day he arrived. Lisa Schabach, NP for never leaving Joe's side throughout the many years. And lastly, the Calumet County Hospice, especially Mary and Melissa for the comfort you provided for Joe during his last days.
