Gilbert of Hastings (Portuguese: Gilberto de Hastings) was an English monk of the Christian army of the Second Crusade who fought in the Siege of Lisbon. After the victory, he was chosen to be the first Bishop of Lisbon. Prior to his incumbency, the see of Lisbon had been vacant since the Muslim invasion in 716. In 1150, Gilbert established the office of the Lisbon Cathedral and the respective dignities. He also introduced in the diocese the rite followed by the Church of Salisbury, in England, by which the diocese of Lisbon was governed until 1536, at the time of the government of Cardinal-Archbishop Afonso, when the Roman rite was introduced (in response to the schism of the Anglican Church). In 1151, he ordered letters to England, requesting that his countrymen come to Hispania to help the Reconquest. He was the creator of the Lisbon parishes of São Vicente de Fora, Mártires and Santa Justa.

He died on 27 April 1166, having been buried in the Lisbon Cathedral.
