MRS. J. BRADBURY PASSES AWAY
The sad news was received here yesterday of the death of Mrs. James Bradbury, which occurred at 2:30 o’clock in the morning. The death of Mrs. Bradbury came as a terrible shock to her relatives and friends, who did not know that she was very ill. The lady was taken down last Sunday with tonsillitis and was quite weak, having faithfully attended to her daughter’s child, who died last Saturday. Only an hour or so previous to her death Mrs. Bradbury had informed Dr. Ross that she was feeling considerably better. As near as can be learned death resulted from the tonsillitis, together with heart failure, from which she had suffered some in the past.
Deceased was the beloved wife of J. S. Bradbury, owner of the National Hotel at North San Juan. She was a lovable woman, who had a legion of friends and her death has cast a gloom over the Ridge town. Mrs. Bradbury was born at Slate Ranch, Yuba county, and was aged about 47 years. Besides the heart-broken husband, six children are also left bereaved, as follows: Mrs. Mark McCullough, Miss Mabel Bradbury, Frank, William, Vera and Neva Bradbury. Two sisters and two brothers – Miss Annie Cohen of this city, Mrs. M. E. Haley of Relief Hill, James and Peter Cohen – also mourn her loss.
Last night the time of the funeral had not been set, but it will probably take place tomorrow afternoon.
