Adelaida "Ida" Perea, beloved mom and grandma, passed away peacefully at home on May 13, 2021, just short of her 95th birthday.
Ida was born in Jarales, New Mexico and was a resident of Albuquerque, NM.
Our matriarch, mom was a strong, determined and fiercely independent woman who inspired us to be the same. Ida attended church faithfully, enjoyed water aerobics, bowling, reading and loved socializing. But what she loved most of all was her family.
We will never forget that mom put family first.
We love her and will miss her every day.
Ida is survived by her daughters. Dorothy Velásquez (Victor), Gerri Chávez, Evangeline Sedillo (Larry), Debbie Silva and Angela Campos (Al), 18 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. Ida is also survived by her sister, Theresa García (Gus), sister-in-law, Sally Hoffman (Dave) and an extended family.
Ida was preceded in death by her husband, Ted, daughter, Annabelle, son, Teddy, parents, Manuel and Delfinia Romero and seven siblings.
A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Edwin Catholic Church, Albuquerque, NM, reception immediately after at St. Edwin Parish Hall, then internment at Santa Fé National Cemetery, Santa Fé, NM at 3:00 p.m. Urn bearers will be granddaughters, Irene, Patricia, Rosella and Lea. Honorary urn bearers will be grandsons, Andrew, Lanny, Randy, Trinidad, David, Joe, Jason, Paul and Marty.
