Martha Gullion (71) passed away April 13, 2007 in Clearfield, Utah as a result of cancer. She was born on July 29, 1935 in Fort Collins, Colorado to Albert and Maria Gomez. She was a country girl at heart. Raised on a farm in Weld County, Colorado, Martha often said you could take the girl out of country, but you couldn't take the country out of the girl. Martha met her husband, Gerald Gullion, Sr. in Greeley, Colorado where they were married in 1955. In 1964 Gerald and Martha moved to Southern California to make a better living for the family. In 1997 Martha retired with her husband in Clearfield, Utah to be near family. Martha was a lifelong devoted Christian whose faith was an inspiration to many. A very down-to-earth, loving mother, grandmother, sister and wife, Martha will be deeply missed. Martha was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Gus Gomez and Steve Gomez.
A public viewing will be held Friday, April 20, at 6-8pm with funeral services to follow the next morning, Saturday at 11am at Layton Hills Baptist Church, 1332 Hillfield Road, Layton, Utah. Interment will occur at Valley Memorial Park in Hillsboro, Oregon at 1pm on Monday, April 23, 2007.
