A native and lifelong resident of Milledgeville, Juanita was born November 2, 1938 to the late Elmer Brookins and the late Maggie Brookins. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Harold "Billy" Brookins, Sr., by a sister and brother-in-law, Louise & Frank McDade, and by a brother, Alan Brookins. Juanita was a Graduate of Peabody High School's Class of 1956, and received her degree in Nursing from Georgia College. She retired after over 30 years, as a Registered Nurse, from the Culver Kidd Building at Central State Hospital. She loved Nursing, and she enjoyed gardening and taking care of her flowers. Juanita was a member of Beulah Baptist Church.
Juanita is survived by: 5 children, Karen Smith of Milledgeville, Raymond "Pete" Johnson of Milledgeville, Anita (& Butch) McGahee of McIntyre, Sheila Whidby of Milledgeville, and Maggie (& John) Coker of Milledgeville ; 1 brother, Charles Brookins, Sr. ; 1 sister-in-law, SheReia Brookins ; 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.
The family will accept flowers, however, those who wish may make Memorial Contributions to the Parkinsons Foundation, 200 SE 1st Street,
