DREHER, ALYCE MAURICIO Jan. 20, 1961 to Dec. 21, 2006 Alyce Dreher, 45, together with her son Robbie, 12, and her parents John and Alice Mauricio, perished in a private airplane crash in Concord, California. This is a loss of unspeakable heartache to all her family and friends. Alyce was born in the Point Loma neighborhood of San Diego and is survived by her beloved daughter Cassandra and husband Scott. Alyce graduated Point Loma High School in 1978, San Diego State in 1983 and Pepperdine Law School in 1986. She practiced law with the Law Offices of Michael Aguirre from 1986-1988 and Hill & McKinnon from 1988-1991, when she became a full-time mom and began working with her father as counsel and advisor in a number of business enterprises. She elevated the occupation of "mom" to a profession and an art and attacked every task with love. She was President of the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, involved in the Children's School in La Jolla, three-time PTA President of Ashley Falls Elementary School, Chairperson of the KARE Program, which was a building block for the future Character Education Program in the Del Mar Union School District. Recently she was on the Board of the Parent's Association at The Bishop's School, Chairperson of the Faculty Acquisitions for the Bishop's Annual Auction for the past three years, an Advisory Parent for Robbie's class, and an 11th Grade Parent Advisor. The epitome of the "soccer mom", she was also the Team Manager for Robbie's U-13 soccer team with the Carmel Valley Manchester Soccer Club and helped with Cassandra's teams as well. Alyce was an avid jazzerciser. She loved listening to music and was a gifted seamstress, creating many Halloween original costumes for her children. She was loved dearly by her family and her multitude of friends.
