Services were held Tuesday at Schram-Waid Funeral Home for Victor L. Batchelder, 508 Wisconsin St., Merrill. Sixty-eight year old Mr. Batchelder died at Pine Crest Nursing Home on Saturday.

Rev. Robert Smallman, pastor of Bible Presbyterian Church officiated the services. Burial was in Merrill Memorial Park.

Mr. Batchelder was born to Albert and Margaret (Stevenson) Batchelder on January 4, 1911. He was united in marriage to Marie Weber on June 4, 1960.

For many years in Merrill, Mr. Batchelder operated the Sportsman's Bar. From 1970 until 1975, however, he was employed by the City of Merrill.

His survivors include his wife; two sons, Charles, 1005 N. Genesee St., Merrill, and James, 3303 Canary Ave., Wausau; two stepsons, Harvey Berg, 1700 E. Main St., and Donald Berg, Rt. 3, both of Merrill; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Gerald (Lorraine) Hansen, of Milwaukee.

In addition, survivors include five brothers, Louis, Two Rivers; Howard, Hayden Lake, ID; Alvin, Garden Grove, CA; Leland, Bellevue, ID; and Delbert, Coeur d'Alene, ID; four sisters, Mrs. Ruth Schreiber, Rhinelander; Mrs. Carl (Margaret) Henrichs, 607 Wisconsin St., Merrill; Mrs. Hollis (Delores) Avery, Port Angeles, WA; and Mrs. Les (Ila Mae) David of California; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
