Debbie is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Gerald Engle Arters Sr., her loving children Lisa Votta (Rich), and Gerald Arters Jr. (Heather). Dear grandmother to Matthew Arters, John Votta, Kaitlyn Votta, Jake Arters and Meghan Arters. She is also survived by her sister Judith Smith (Dan) and many nieces & nephews.
In her younger years Debbie was very active in her community. She was a Girl Scout leader at Concord Elementary School and she served as president of the Ladies Auxiliary of both the Aston-Middletown Jaycees and the Brandywine Youth Club. She started the Great Books program at Concord Elementary and coached softball at BYC. Debbie was also a great supporter of her children's and grandchildren's sports and activities. She could often be found cheering on the sidelines and in the audience at Garnet Valley, Merion Mercy, and St Joe's Prep events, and in later years on the rivers at Princeton, Boston College and Temple.
Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation, Thursday, June 17th from 9:00AM to 10:15AM at Saint Thomas the Apostle Church (New Church), 430 Valleybrook Road, Glen Mills, PA 19342, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:30AM. Interment St. Thomas the Apostle Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Arthritis National Research Foundation, 19200 Von Karman Avenue, Suite 350, Irvine, CA 92612. Donations may also be made to the Garnet Valley Performing Arts Association 552 Smithbridge Rd Glen Mills Pa 19342.
