Loretta I. Hecker, age 95, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center in Manitowoc.

Loretta was born on May 29, 1926 in Manitowoc. She was the daughter of the late Reinhardt and Elsie Baeckmann Lange. On May 19, 1945 she married Earl R. Hecker at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on February 18, 2002. Loretta and Earl had the honor of celebrating 56 years of marriage together. Loretta and her husband owned and operated the family homestead farm in rural Manitowoc for many years. She was a member of Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church and also a member of the Ladies Aid of the church. Loretta enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing and planting her flowers and working in her garden and sharing her fruits and vegetables with her family and friends.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Joanne and Carl Taylor, Dandanelle, Arkansas, one son and daughter-in-law, David and Theresa Hecker, Branch; five grandchildren, Scott (Nicole) Hecker, Shelly Hecker and her fiancé Eli, Tina (Mike) Wenzel, David Owens, Diane Owens; seven great grandchildren, sister-in-law, Lavern Hecker, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Vernon and Luella Hecker, nieces, nephews, along with other relatives, friends, and her special Doberman dog Kilo and her cat Whiskers. She was preceded in death by her parents, Reinhardt and Elsie Lange, husband, Earl Hecker, one grandson, Chad Hecker, one sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Edward Ringmeier, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Reuben and Jane Hecker, brother-in-law, Lloyd Hecker, and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Emil and Dora Hecker.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, July 9, 2021 at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church, 3209 Meadow Lane, Manitowoc. Officiating will be Rev. Robert Kujawski. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may call at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m.
