Alvie "Shorty" Skelton, 95, of Blytheville, passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at her home.

Shorty was born in Blytheville to Albert and Lula Polk Hoskins. She was retired from Milwaukee Tool and was a member of Lone Oak Baptist Church. Shorty loved canning pear preserves and relish, and enjoyed working word search puzzles. She loved being outdoors working in her yard and in her flower beds, especially working with her rose bushes.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, L.V. "Frog" Skelton; brothers, Charles, J.W. and Leon Hoskins; and sisters, Leverne Byzak, Lavada Watson, Emma Webb, Lillie Corsaw, Irma Borah, Mildred Hughes and Ester Springer.

Shorty leaves her children, Donald Skelton and his wife Rena and Jacky Skelton and his wife Pat, all of Blytheville; grandchildren, Johnny and Brian Skelton; great-grandchildren, Cassie and Landen Skelton; great-great grandchildren, Jordyn and Keagen Hart; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give special thanks to all of Shorty's nurses and aides of Elite Hospice of Jonesboro and Angel Home Health Care, especially Mariana Juarez.
