Herald Times Reporter June 13, 2010one Thielbar Ballard, age 96, of Tisch Mills entered into eternal rest Friday, June 11, 2010, at the Hamilton Care Center in Two Rivers after a brief illness with her family at her side. Ione was born March 8, 1914, in Francis Creek to the late George and Louise Wagner Zimmer. She attended the Fisherville Grade School. On Sept. 27, 1932, she married Harry Thielbar and they farmed in the town of Mishicot. She later married Harry Ballard and they lived in Tisch Mills. Ione enjoyed gardening, canning and baking her favorite molasses cookies and her round rye bread, which everyone enjoyed. Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law: Jeanette (Louie) Kakuk of Manitowoc, Delphine (Robert)Jones of Mishicot, Donna (Adam) Durben of Two Rivers, Darlene (Curt) Burch of Athelestane; two sons: Donald Thielbar of Two Rivers, Delmar (Nancy) Thielbar of Bolt; 21 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her two husbands, she was preceded in death by one son: Robert; one granddaughter; four grandsons; one son-in-law: John Urban; and by six brothers and five sisters. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mishicot with the Rev. Robert Johannes officiating, with entombment to follow in the Knollwood Mausoleum, Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may call Tuesday at the church until the time of service. There will be no Monday evening visitation.

The family would like to express a very special thank you to the entire staffs of Holy Family Memorial Medical Center and the Hamilton Care Center for their loving care given to our mother during her brief illness. Your kindness will always be remembered. The Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home of Mishicot is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
