James Alvin Fox, 74 of Sioux City passed away on Sunday, June 27th at a local hospital.

His body has been cremated and no local services will be held at this time.

Jim is known to family as Jimmy was born February 16, 1947 to Alfred and Peggy Fox of Leeds, Sioux City, Iowa.

Jimmy at St. Michael's, was an altar boy, was a member of the Boy Scouts and played multiple sports. At age 14 he became interested in amateur "HAM" radio and became the youngest operator in the state of Iowa winning regional awards for most worldwide contacts and with the call letters of K0GLQ, the interest stated with him all of his years.

After graduating from Heelan High School in 1965, he enlisted in the Air Force in 1966 and was stationed in Thailand, Guam, Okinawa and Ellsworth AFB during the Vietnam War working as an electronics technician on B-52 Bombers, C-130 Transports and SR-71 Blackbirds.

Jim moved to Hawaii shortly after his 1970 Honorable Discharge where he met & married Alberta Salgado of Paauilo, Hawaii in 1971 and had six children together while living in Sioux City, Hawaii and Spearfish & Rapid City in the Black Hills of western South Dakota then finally moving back to Sioux City in 1987.

During those years, he was employed at Sears, Sigler Fire and various electronic manufacturing & repair companies, retiring from his personal electronics repair business.

Jim is survived by his children with Alberta who include, Carolyn "Carol" De La Cruz of Sioux City, Robert "Rob" Fox of Hawaii, Kelly Fox of Hawaii, Richard Fox of Hawaii, Timothy "Tim" Fox of Ankeny and John Fox of Hawaii and his grandchildren of Carol: RJ, Michael, Jessica, Kristina and Brianna, child of Rob: Shaylene and children of Kelly: Malachi, Christian and Jasmine and great-grand-children, Carter and Carson of Carol/Michael.

Jim is also survived by his wife, Valencia Moyer Fox since their marriage in 1997 and his step-children, Tricia, Tanya and Travis Moyer and 9 grandchildren.

Jim's surviving siblings are sisters Mary Anderson, Ruth Lesline of Sioux City and William "Billy" Fox of Chicago, sister-in-laws Areti (Didi) of Olathe, Kansas and LeeAnn of Sioux Cioux City along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Jim is now joined in peace with family who preceded him in death by his parents, brothers Don, Ken and grand-daughter Natasha, along with nephews Steven and Jeff and first wife, Alberta.
