Elizabeth Margaret Bowie was the daughter of Governor Robert Bowie and Priscilla Mackall.

"Died in Baltimore on Thursday last, after a very brief illness. Mrs. Waring, relict of the late John Waring Esq of this county, in the 75th year of her age. The deceased was the only surviving daughter of the late Governor Bowie of this state. Her recollections extended back to the worthies of a generation now passed away, of whom she was an associate."

At the residence of her son-in-law John R. Magruder of this city, on Thursday morning, after a short illness, Mrs. Elizabeth Waring in the 75th year of her age. She was the only surviving daughter of the late Governor Bowie of Maryland and was especially dear to relatives and friends from her affectionate disposition and winning character of manner. No one ever more faithful discharged the duties of life or left the world more sincerely lamented.
