Beverly H. Burr, 70 of South Ohioville Road, New Paltz died Saturday September 11, 2010 at the Benedictine Hospital. Born in Kingston on May 30, 1940 she was the daughter of the late Charles Emberson and Etta Louella Soper Hanssen. She is the step daughter of the late Jon Hanssen. A homemaker and mother, she was a foster parent and enjoyed gardening and cooking.
Surviving is her husband, Gerald G. Burr of New Paltz; three daughters, Lisa Drummond (Jim) of Red Hook, New York, Rene Chase (Doug) of Ulster Park and Annie Tejada (Tim) of Cairo, New York; three sons, Marcus E. Simes, Jr. (Rebecca) of Spotsylvania, Virginia, Captain John Charles Simes (Bonnie) of Palm City Florida and Gerald R. Burr of Florida; two loving sisters, Gina Callahan of Easton, Maryland and Sonja Carter of San Diego, California. Ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several loving nieces and nephews also survive.
Her husband, Marcus E. Simes, Sr. died previously.
