STANLEY E. SPEVACEK

Stanley E. Spevacek, 89, Green Bay, formerly of Maribel, passed away suddenly Saturday evening, March 31, 2007, at a Green Bay hospital.
Born Oct. 26, 1917, in Maribel, he was the son of the late John and Anna (Straka) Spevacek. Stanley married Hazel Willmite on Aug. 24, 1940. Together, the couple worked the family farm near Melnik in northern Manitowoc County for many years. In later years, Stanley was employed by Burger Boat Company, retiring in 1980. The couple moved to Green Bay in 2005 to be near their family. He was a current member of Messiah Ev. Lutheran Church in Green Bay. Stanley was an avid lover of polka music and woodcarving.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 67 years, Hazel; four sons and their spouses, Kirby of White River, Ariz., Glenn and Kathy of Green Bay, Dennis and Debbie of Bellevue, and Randall Spevacek of Green Bay: nine grandchildren: 17 great grandchildren; a sister: Evelyn Shimanek of Green Bay. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Geraldine; daughter-in-law: Audrey Spevacek; brother-in-law, Ed Shimanek.
Friends may call at Messiah Ev. Lutheran Church, 3186 Eaton Road, Green Bay, Thursday, April 5, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Stephen Sauer officiating.
