On Friday, July 9, 2021, God called his faithful servant, Deacon Alphonso Adams, home to rest. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, July 17 at 11:00 a.m. at Greater Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 1207 N. Jefferson Street, Tampa, FL 33602 with Pastor Dr. Brett Snowden, Officiating and Eulogist. The final resting place will be Rest Haven Memorial Park, 4615 E. Hanna Avenue, Tampa. MASKS ARE REQUIRED.

Deacon Adams was a life-long member of Greater Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Tampa, FL, Pastor Dr. Brett Snowden. Deacon Adams' servitude to The Lord included Chairman of The Deacons Ministry, Sunday School Superintendent and member of the Senior Choir.

Deacon Adams was a proud veteran of the United States Army, a Tampa native and a graduate of Middleton Senior High School. He retired as a Welder from Tampa Ship and Drydock. Deacon Alphonso Adams was born on May 13, 1941.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ike Adams and Naomi Brown and sister, Delores Myers; brothers-in-law, Herbert Myers Sr. and Fred Jenrette.

Deacon Adams is survived by his wife of 53 years, Deaconess Jacqueline Adams; children, Elder Alphonso Adams Jr., Sonia Adams, Mark Adams, Monica White and Gino Adams; daughter-in-law, Theresa Adams; son-in-law, Jeffrey White Sr.; grandchildren, Timothy Adams, Gino Adams, Jr., Cynthia Blair, Jeffrey White and Te'Andre Nunez; sisters-in-law, Jewell Jenrette, Claretha Flowers, Cecelia McCoy and Ollie Nell Wheeler; brothers-in-law, Ulysses Marshall and Paul McCoy; great uncle: Curtis Brown; nephews, Herbert Jr. Myers, Eric (Ricky) Myers, Michael Myers, Freddie Archie, Shelwin Marshall, Bruce (Brucie) Collins and Harold McCoy; nieces, Vanessa Flowers, Kim Flowers and Paula McCoy and a host of cousins, grand nieces and grand nephews.

The Wake will be held on Friday, July 16 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Greater Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 1207 N. Jefferson Street, Tampa, FL. MASKS ARE REQUIRED.
