Gertrude Kyle (née Topham), beloved mother of Irene Kyle, passed away Sunday, August 26 at the age of 98 years, following a brief illness.
Born in Chesterfield, England, Gertie came to Winnipeg as a baby, moving to Calgary as a young bride in 1930. Gertie touched the lives of all who knew her - she was greatly loved and will be sorely missed. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. For many years she worked alongside her husband Fred as a bookkeeper helping to build Kyle Printing.
Gertie is survived by her daughter Irene; her granddaughters Audrey (Tony) and Michele (Nigel); her great-grandchildren, Cassandra, Mark, Sasha and Holly; her niece, Janice Kinch; her sister Mable Hopman and numerous nieces and nephews. Gertie was predeceased by her husband Fred, and her daughter Diana.
Funeral Service held at Foster's Garden Chapel, 3220 - 4 Street NW, Calgary on Thursday, August 30, 2007.
