John is a member of Holy Trinity Parish at School Hill. He was a veteran of the United States Navy from 1959 until 1965 during the Cuban Crisis era and a member of the Operating/Engineers Local #139. He worked at Reliance Construction in Sheboygan and Payne and Dolan Construction in Waukesha, retiring in 1990.
He enjoyed hunting, gardening and enjoyed traveling to the Philippines, visiting with his in-laws, nieces, nephews and relatives.
He is survived by his wife, Esmelinda D. Meyer; his sons, Joseph J. Meyer and Randall J. (Fen) Meyer, TN; his daughter, Brenda K. Meyer, Fond du Lac; his grandchildren, Haleigh Meyer, TN, Brittany (Marissa) Jensterle, Waukesha, Aiden Seibel and Jackson Seibel, Fond du Lac; sister-in-law, Mercy C. Dagsaan, Vancouver, Canada; brothers-in-law, Artemio C. Dagsaan, Wilfredo C. (Nida) Dagsaan and Edwin C. (Rose) Dagsaan, all of the Philippines and many nieces, nephews. He is further survived by many friends and relatives. He will be missed by our yellow lab, Pei-pei.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Leroy (Ruthie) Meyer and Ralph Meyer, Random Lake, parents-in-law, three sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law in the Philippines.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 24, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Parish, School Hill (11928 Marken Road, Kiel) with Rev. Robert Mitchell as celebrant. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 23, 2021, at the church, from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm and on Saturday, at the church, from 10:00 am until the time of the Mass. Military Honors and burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and staff who cared for John while at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center and the nurses at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice who cared for him during his short stay.
