Born May 25, 1930 in Elverson, he was a son of the late George and Edith (Wary) Ammon, and graduated from Spring City High School. He then served in the U. S. Army as a staff sergeant during the Korean War. He was a carpenter by trade.An avid hunter and fisherman, Mr. Ammon was a member of the Elverson Rod and Gun Club. He was also a member of the American Legion and enjoyed playing poker with his brothers.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Michael L. Ammon and his wife, Elizabeth, and Jeffrey L. Ammon; four grandchildren, Erick, Kelly, Matthew, and Crystal; three step grandchildren, Rachel, Cory, and Christopher; and a son-in-law, David Negley.
Mr. Ammon was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Negley; and three brothers, George, Calvin and Richard Ammon.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at 2PM on Saturday, January 10, at R. L. Williams, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc., 3440 Skippack Pike at Cedars Rd., Skippack, where friends may call for the viewing from 1-2PM. Burial will be private at Trinity Church Cemetery in Skippack.
