It took me over 30 years to find proof of Allen (Alan) Garvin's parentage. I was fairly sure James and Sarah Garvin were his parents, but I had no proof. One day I was sent a copy of a page from a book written by T. F. Garvin in 1898 that listed Allen as their son. What excitment I felt to finely have the proof I needed.
Most of the family moved to Millville, Grant County, Wiscosin in 1855. The family moved on to Boone County, Iowa in 1874. In 1879 Allen and Elsey moved with son George R. to Panora, Guthrie County, Iowa. Elsey died there in 1885 and in 1886 Allen moved back to Boone County to live out his years with son Eber.
Thank you Tom McGurk for faxing me that page back in March 2000.
