Hershell Phillips "Gradall Man", 80, of Browns Ridge Road, Lerona, died Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was born February 20, 1927, in the same home to Watson and Reba Davis Phillips. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Phillips; sister, Mary Freeman; and grandsons, Anthony "Tucker" Phillips and Donald "Lee" Phillips Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife of 59 years, Geneva Keaton Phillips; his children, Donald Lee Phillips and wife Nita, Larry Hershell Phillips and wife Debbie, Shelia Fay Edwards and husband Larry, Drema Gay Lane and husband Tony all of Lerona, Sherry Kay Winn and husband Frank of Greensboro, N.C.; 14 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and expecting the addition of two great-grandchildren whom he was excited about; sisters, Patra Marshall of Radford, Va., Maude Crews of True, Odell Walker and husband George of Radford, Va.; and many special friends who have been with the family.
