Lucky was found late one night in April outside our house in the lane by my son. He was in such a state, close to death, thin, full of fleas, worms, oh my heart really felt for him. We took him inside to give him some cat biscuits, his little mouth was full of soil so we had to bath him first . He was so dirty we had to bath him 3 times in a row !! When we gave him the biscuits well he just gorged on them, and he was so thirsty too. We tried to find out who he belonged to without any success. So we decided to adopt him. For obvious reasons we called him Lucky .

We finally discovered who he belonged to. It turned out he came from the next street up, and he had only been missing one night when we found him !! I was horrified to think that he had gotten so thin whilst in their care. They decided to let me keep Lucky. Which i was glad about, there was no way i was going to let him go back to them anyway !!
They also told me that he was 6 years old, so he was an old chap.

Lucky had a wonderful life with us, he put on weight and his coat grew back beautifully. He was a very handsome ferret indeed. He would run around the garden every day, leaping and playing with us and sneaking up on our dogs :) He would make little grunting noises at us, if you have ever owned a ferret you would know what i mean, he always made them when he was happy and talking to us.

Lucky became ill the early part of November, he went off his food . I fed him on baby food but even that was too much for him. Yesterday he would not take any water from me either and this afternoon he passed away in the comfort of his hutch that he loved so much.

We burried him in our back garden.

Thanks for the happy memories Lucky. we love you x
