Jemima's maiden name is unknown. It is believed that she was an American Indian. She is my third great grandmother. Jemima was born about 1810 in Tennessee. She married Thomas Howard about 1831, possibly in Mobile, Alabama. She and Thomas had ten children. Jemima died sometime between 1880 and 1887 in Carroll County, Mississippi. She does not have a tombstone and there is no record of where she is buried, but it seems only reasonable that she is buried in the Howard Family Cemetery.
